About the Author
Ordained as a licensed minister, most of Barbara’s current ministry work centers around teaching, writing, and intercession. In her more than 30 years as an intercessor, Barbara’s passion for prayer has taken her to such distinct places as Israel and the U.S. Congress. Her close proximity to Washington, DC affords her ongoing opportunities to intercede on Capitol Hill for all branches of our federal government: Executive, Legislative, and Judicial. She currently serves as a State Prayer Coordinator for Aglow International. In this capacity she teaches and mobilizes prayer across the state of Maryland.
Barbara’s calling is to equip and prepare the Bride of Christ for His soon return. Her gift of exhortation and love for the Word have brought her opportunities to teach and speak at churches, retreats, and conferences. She has taught prayer conferences as far away as the remote bush region of Ghana, West Africa: “Living and Praying in the Power of the Kingdom.” A favorite retreat theme is intimacy with the Lord, responding to His call to “Come Away, My Beloved.” (from the Song of Solomon)
As a seeker after The Truth (John 14:6), the desire of her heart is to plant the Word of Truth and to bring people to that place of meeting with God, so that He, Who is their Source, can minister to their needs and equip them to overcoming life in Christ. Declaring that “God’s way works!” and believing that His Word brings life and health (Proverbs 4:22) she uses every opportunity to minister and apply the Word through prayer, exhortation, and example.
A yearning for deeper intimacy with the Lover of her soul has brought Barbara into a ministry of prophetic worship and intercession through dance, banners and flags. Jesus is her “Magnificent Obsession,” and Philippians 3:10-12 is her deepest life goal: “That I might know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings…not that I am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Jesus Christ has also laid hold of me!” Her personal prayer and trust is that the Lord would equip her with everything good for doing His will, and work in her that which is pleasing to Him. (Hebrews 13:21)
Barbara’s declaration over her own life is “Lord, let Your Kingdom come and Your will be done in my life as it is in heaven.” (Matthew 6:10) Kingdom Rising Ministries was incorporated as a 501(c)(3) organization in January 2011. Revealing the Kingdom is her priority and equipping the Church to be God’s Kingdom Advancers is her passion.
Once a full-time mother of three and now a grandmother of six, Barbara resides with her husband, Jim, in the Washington, DC area.
